45. The Posurdex Implant in the Treatment
of Retinal Vein Occlusion

The United States FDA recently approved the Posurdex Implant for treatment of macular edema due to BRVO or CRVO. OZURDEX™ produced significantly greater and more rapid improvements in vision than did sham treatment in patients with ME associated with BRVO or CRVO in two phase III clinical trials. OZURDEX™ was well tolerated. The rationale and the development of OZURDEX™ will be discussed. Finally, some of the pre-publication data from the phase III clinical trials will be presented.
