16. The posterior vitreous cortex –
a cause for the develoment of AMD?

Posterior vitreous cortex is recognized as a causative agent in more and more vitreoretinal diseases. Relating to other vitreoretinal diseases, it can be shown, that a tight posterior vitreous can be
the cause of AMD. Anti-VEGF and Triamcinolon are good devices for treatment of AMD, however, the causative treatment must be the enzymatic dissection of the posterior vitreous cortex.
