DIABETES, VEIN OCCLUSION AND UVEITIS
VITRECTOMY FOR CME IN RETINAL VEIN OCCLUSIONS-A
NEW INDICATION?
Michaela Velikay-Parel (Wien)
In clinical praxis CME in branch vein occlusions is treated with laser. OCT findings
in some patients show vitreous traction on the central retina, which can be hardly
seen in fundus exams. Central vein occlusion do not respond to grid laser, diamox
has shown some effect on vision. In a pilot series we operated on those patients and
achieved visual improvement. Pathology and patient recruitment will be discussed.
